SNAP-LINE 45® Cladding

Snap-Line45®

Architectural panels for commercial and residential design need to combine eye-catching smart appearance, distinctive styling and rugged durability.

Snap-Line45® combines these qualities to make a truly iconic statement on any building. That’s why it’s one of Australia’s most popular steel roofing and wall cladding options.

Snap-Line45® — the name says it all. The sharply defined 45mm high ribs instantly give these panels a special character.

Snap-Line45® denotes strength alloyed with a bold character. This is a profile that will take anything the Australian climate can throw at it and it’s not shy about either its strength or its beauty.

The high 45mm rib and wide pans ensure that Snap-Line45® lives up to some pretty demanding weathertightness requirements.

Snap-Line45® performs particularly well in freak heavy downpour events with its high water carrying capacity removing water swiftly and safely from your roof and walls.

The structural, self-supporting characteristics of Snap-Line45® open up an enormous range of architectural design possibilities.

A wide range of material types and colours further enhances the creative design potential of Snap-Line45®. Colorbond, Zincalume, zinc, copper, aluminium, and Corten options open up a world of exciting options.

Snap-Line 45® Profile Options

Profile Options: Choosing the Right Snap-Line 45®

Snap-Line 45® is available in four engineered profile options—CLASSIC, NEXT GEN, NEXT GEN PLUS BEADS, and NEXT GEN PLUS STRIATIONS—each optimised for different application conditions.

Profile selection directly impacts visual performance, thermal stability, and long-term aesthetic outcomes, making it a critical specification decision.

  • CLASSIC
  • NEXT GEN
  • NEXT GEN PLUS BEADS
  • NEXT GEN PLUS STRIATIONS

CLASSIC delivers the purest flat aesthetic for low to moderate pitch roofs with matt finishes and good substrate condition. It's ideal for wall cladding and applications where design intent favours minimal visual character.

NEXT GEN introduces a shallow recessed channel at the clip interface, reducing telegraphing while preserving the smooth aesthetic.

It's the recommended option for most roofing applications—particularly medium-to-high pitch roofs, longer panel runs, and direct batten fixing installations.

NEXT GEN PLUS BEADS and NEXT GEN PLUS STRIATIONS provide maximum rigidity and ripple control for high-visibility applications, re-roofing projects, glossy or metallic finishes, and long panel spans where oil canning control is critical.

Striations offer the most effective visual masking while maintaining refined surface character.

Choosing the right profile upfront eliminates costly specification revision, reduces warranty issues, and ensures the building performs and looks as intended. View detailed profile selection guide.

SNAP-LINE 45® COLOURS

The natural colours of copper, Zincalume, and the Corten rusted look work well in a wide range of Australian environments.

But Colorbond gives you even more options if you want your building to be even more adventurous and stand out or you need to blend in with the environment.

Colorbond offers a full palette of colour options designed to match the rich earthy and marine colours of the Australian environment. With Ultra, Metallic and Matt options also available.

If you’re renovating an older house you might want to take a look at the Classic colour range; it’s perfect for blending in with older style housing and colour ranges.

The contemporary range offers a youthful palette that matches the rich exuberance of modern Australia. It’s perfect for residential and commercial projects.

When you’re deciding how to use Snap-Line45® and the sort of materials and colours you want to work with think about the following:

  • Proximity to coastal environments or other corrosive elements
  • Existing colour range on the property - garages, walls, fences, interior
  • Environmental impacts such as visibility, glare, and heritage values

Snap-Line45® is also available in the Unicote® Lux® range, including Zinc Graphite, Weathered Iron, Corten Red, Black Graphite, Maple, Ashwood and Wenge finishes.

SNAP-LINE 45® INSTALLATION

Snap-Line45®'s superior strength allows for relatively large unsupported spans under certain conditions. This removes the need for plywood or other substrates.

Snap-Line45® is incredibly easy and fast to install providing real cost savings. Install panels into the prevailing wind.

Make sure you use the correct fasteners for each application and don’t forget to rectify any potential material compatibility issues.

Accurate alignment of sheets and clips is essential to safeguard against any possible tension issues especially under the stress of thermal contraction and expansion.

The larger rib of the adjoining sheet simply snaps into position forming an exceptionally watertight seal.

We also offer the convenient option of mobile roll forming onsite as well as custom lengths to minimize wastage and increase installation efficiency.

SNAP-LINE 45® MAINTENANCE

Snap-Line45® is a superior low-maintenance cladding product. The clean lines of Snap-Line45® promote a natural self-cleaning action with heavy rain washing away most dirt and debris.

The concealed fixing screws provide additional weathering protection in a traditionally weak area of older cladding types. Snap-Line45® will require minimal maintenance over its lifetime.

However, even the highest performing steel cladding will benefit from some maintenance to optimise its lifespan.

Removing leaf matter, dirt and other organic material build-up is always a good idea. You should do this annually at least once or even twice a year. If the building is surrounded by trees you may need to repeat this operation even more frequently.

Removing organic matter is important because it can block guttering and cause water to back up and potentially penetrate seams and thence into roof or wall cavities.

It’s also important to remove dirt and organic material because these substances can significantly increase the rate of corrosion. Organic matter may also contain organisms that can potentially damage the paint finish.

By choosing Snap-Line45® you’ve minimised your installation costs and hassles as well as your maintenance challenges.
