Warriewood Community Centre

The soon‑to‑open Warriewood Community Centre is already shaping up to be one of the Northern Beaches most exciting new public spaces, and behind its striking architectural form lies a roofing and cladding solution that made the entire project possible.

Warriewood Community Centre has a modern standing‑seam look with clean lines, crisp ribs, and a sleek, contemporary finish

The Snap‑Line45® system, manufactured and supplied by No.1 Roofing & Building Supplies, proved to be not just the right choice but arguably the only system capable of meeting the project’s demanding technical, aesthetic, and logistical requirements.

From the earliest design conversations with Terroir Architects, to the final installation by AGF Metal Roofing under Belmadar Construction, Snap‑Line45® played a defining role in bringing this ambitious community hub to life.

Snap‑Line45’s roll‑on‑site

Terroir’s architectural vision called for a refined, modern standing‑seam look with clean lines, crisp ribs, and a sleek, contemporary finish. Snap‑Line45® delivered exactly that, offering the flat pan and standing rib profile that matched the design intent perfectly.

Beyond appearance, the project included several roof areas with pitches below the usual 3‑degree minimum for standing seam systems. Snap‑Line45®, tested and certified down to 1 degree, was uniquely capable of handling these conditions without compromising performance or warranty, making it the only viable option for the design.

The project also required exceptionally long roof sheets — some exceeding 28 metres — which would normally present major logistical challenges. Transporting and craning sheets of that length without damage is notoriously difficult.

Snap‑Line45’s roll‑on‑site capability solved this instantly. Panels were produced directly at the Warriewood site, allowing seamless installation and eliminating the risks associated with long‑length transport. This feature alone was critical to the project’s success.

Warriewood Community Centre project’s success was built on collaboration.

Given the centre’s proximity to the ocean, corrosion resistance was another essential requirement. The original specification called for 0.9 mm painted aluminium, but No.1 Roofing worked closely with BlueScope to deliver the system in COLORBOND® Ultra steel, ensuring long‑term durability and providing full warranty
coverage. This gave the architects, builders, and council complete confidence in the material choice.

The project’s success was built on collaboration. Terroir Architects were searching for a system that could satisfy both their design ambitions and the technical constraints of the site.

Once the Snap‑Line45® solution was presented by No.1 Roofing Architectural Specification team, its advantages were so clear that the specification was locked in without hesitation. AGF Metal Roofing executed the installation with precision, making full use of the roll‑on‑site process to handle the long‑length panels efficiently and safely.

Belmadar Construction oversaw the build, relying on No.1 Roofing’s responsiveness to keep the project moving smoothly. With 11 locations across NSW — including Narrabeen and Mona Vale just minutes from the site — No.1 Roofing was able to supply materials and support quickly, ensuring uninterrupted progress and maintaining productivity throughout the build.

Warriewood Community Centre with Snap‑Line 45

As the Warriewood Community Centre prepares to open its doors, the building stands as a testament to thoughtful design, technical innovation, and industry teamwork. Snap‑Line45® didn’t just meet the project’s challenges; it elevated the outcome, delivering a roof and façade solution that is visually striking, structurally robust, and engineered for decades of community use.

This project showcases what’s possible when architects, builders, installers, and suppliers work in harmony toward a bold, shared goal. Watch this space – everyone involved is buzzing with anticipation as the final touches come together, and we can’t wait to see the full project revealed.
